Technical Specifications
Little information is available to date, but the first images present a model with bold and elegantly sculpted lines, as well as large-sized wheels. Noticeable features include a slimmed-down grille, vertical lights, and a sloping roofline, not to mention a flamboyant body color with a black roof.
More compact than the previously mentioned Lyriq, it has exterior dimensions close to the current Cadillac XT5; regarding the interior, some details were leaked on April 14, a few days before the official opening of the Beijing Auto Show.
According to the Autoblog site, which published an image of the Optiq's interior, we find some features from the Lyriq, such as the steering wheel and the curved dashboard screen. However, it differs from the Lyriq by offering a horizontal trim with ambient lighting; there is also a rotary dial for the screen and a new design for the center console, among other features.
We also learn that the Optiq will be based on the BEV3 platform, which already hosts the Chevrolet Equinox EV; for the rest, the technical information is specific to the Chinese market and will differ from that of the North American Optiq. This model will be equipped with an Ultium engine, producing over 200 horsepower in the Chinese market, but the power of the version that will be offered here will be revealed in the coming months.
However, based on the data already available for models like the Lyriq and the impressive Escalade iQ, we can expect noteworthy performances!
